The Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine in France and Euskadi Region in Spain, two dynamic regions linked by their strategic ports, share major economic assets in various fields.
The consortium of four Nouvelle-Aquitaine ports, Aquitania Ports Link (Port de Bayonne, Grand Port Maritime de Bordeaux, PORTS DE COMMERCE DE ROCHEFORT ET DE TONNAY CHARENTE, and Port Atlantique La Rochelle), and BilbaoPort have decided to join forces to strengthen cross-border cooperation.
Their partnership, formalized by the signing of a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on Thursday, September 25, 2025, as part of the AGRIVRAC event in Bayonne, aims to develop an efficient and sustainable logistics arc, particularly around offshore wind power, digitization, energy transition, and all other activities that would draw on the strengths and complementarities of each of these commercial ports.
This alliance should increase competitiveness, stimulate international trade, and position these ports as European leaders in sustainable maritime transport.
